We decided to go try this place out since my dad is vegan and this said that it caters to vegans. Upon entering the energy was just strange. The people who ran it were very nice, but the energy was really uninviting and if was just me I would of walked out and gone somewhere else. The "market" is basically just a few vegetable and fruit stands that offer some nice looking organic produce as well as a couple of refrigerators full of healthy drinks and a few other things. It also offers a bit of other vegetarian and glutton free products along with some nice looking bakery items, but I wouldn't consider it a market. I had the club sandwich which was very good, my dads girlfriend had the stuffed avocado stuffed with the chicken cashew salad which she really liked, and my dad had the pinto beans with veggies which was very tasty. The reason that that I give this place only a two star rating is a couple of things, the energy for one, also there isn't a lot of seating, and mostly the food is good, but nothing to write home about.

The cafe serves a variety of organic and vegetarian (and vegan) meals, made fresh in the kitchen. There is a variety of fresh vegan and gluten free baked goods and desserts available as well. The owners are very nice which is a plus. Seating is limited.

Nice gem for health food. Lady was helpful except she was "not gonna" tell me where the SCOBY for the house made kombucha came from, kinda made me frustrated not knowing where something I'm drinking comes from, Ah well. As for the food I ordered the "Deluxe Salad" with chicken and the soup of the day(pinto bean with queso fresco). The soup tasted fresh and the flavor was very basic, like a bowl of beans( cornbread little on the dry side), the salad was alright except for the overly salty eggplant( possibly from being cooked with soy?) and the chicken had 5 pieces of inedible gristle. I'm also writing this review while eating and they went immediately from 4 to 3 stars after another piece of chicken gristle and oh yeah a piece of parchment paper in the beans. Won't be comming back except for the other bottled kombucha and possibly pastry items, or some of their greens so I can make something healthy at home. I just stopped eating the meal and have to say, if your desperate for a healthy meal stop in. If you have the means to make your own, do it. Now that I've written this review I'm gonna give it 3 stars as a health food store and 1 as a restaurant.

So sad it's gone. Great, local, wholesome food when they had. The best to Joseph and hope he has a new venture in the area soon.

We went here to get a small snack. U ended up ordering a veggie burger and it was pretty good. Nice and fresh. I only ate half of it but it was really filling. It was a good place for sandwiches they had chicken salad and tuna salad, normal salads with fruits and nuts (which looked really good) and decent portions. I wanted to try to tofu chocolate silken pie or chocolate/vanilla creme brûlée but we were in a rush to head out so couldn't fully enjoy it. There was a older man playing guitar there he was good, so he made our wait enjoyable. If I go back there I will probably get a salad it looked really good even though I don't like nuts or fruits in my food.!

That cool metal sided building just past the Y on Park Avenue, out in the parking lot in front of the low key arts building and across the road from the B Inn. This is always a great choice for food. Fresh, local and organic ingredients whenever possible - lots of vegetarian options. These guys make a great house made from scratch veggie burger that is one of the best around. They also make an awesome chicken salad sandwich. Joseph, the owner supports local farmers and purveyors and showcases lots of Arkansas local produce and products within the market. There is a walk up Deli counter, place your order, grab a cold drink and a seat. When your food is ready they bring it to you. Park Island Market and Cafe is a great place to grab a sandwich, a meal or some local produce. A great little business and a solid place to eat. A solid 4 Stars. 00194

Soooooo good and fresh! I was lucky enough to meet the cook and I just had to tell her how much I appreciated the care that went into my dish! The Enfrijoladas... Or the Dos Pupusas... Heck - even the baked potato was awesome!!! If you're visiting Hot Springs - Don't waste time and money on tourist trap restaurants... EAT AT PARK ISLAND.

Everyone should eat here! It claims vegan options but really it's vegetarian (you can always ask to go without the cheese, etc - but still it literally says vegan so that's a little weird). Anyways, the food is phenomenal! They had a guy playing the guitar for ambiance during lunch. It was packed and we shared a table with some super nice locals that gave us tips about the town. They also have a little grocery with in season produce and other stock items. Eat here!

The other restaurants in Hot Springs should close down out of shame. Nothing can come close to eating fresh organic delicious food made with love. It's a shame they are choosing to sell the place. People are not willing to pay the price of a real organic meal so they have to practically give the food away at cost. Please visit this place, patronize it and show them that there are people who care about food that's not all fried ( that's all the rest of this town seems to be able to offer). Tip them wells I they can sustain the business - we all know that we would happily pay almost double their prices for the same food in other (European) countries. Thus is an appeal to yelpers to help this business thrive. They deserve the opportunity the most.

So far not impressed. You enter and order on the "market" side but there isn't a market unless you count a cooler with 7 items (I counted). And maybe 10 veggies (mostly onions) on huge shelves. A few jars on the back wall. I got the veggie salad and chicken salad with avocados, fruit and crackers. I got chips with it (not crackers) that are your standard bagged tortilla chips from walmart and a bruised oxidized apple that looks nasty. The rice was bland. Don't think we would ever come back here. Sadly enough I'm updating. Almost broke a tooth on a rock. Luckily I was only eating a piece of avocado (so I thought) so I wasn't biting down hard. Half the beans were not cooked. There were black spots on the avocado halves. Also my husband had to send back his sweet tea that was not only unsweet but was so old it was fermenting. You could see a white haze in the tea. OWNERS, THIS WILL MAKE SOMEONE EXTREMELY SICK!!! THROW IT AWAY AT THE END OF THE DAY!!! The owners don't care anymore. Please don't abuse customers anymore with this food. The bison burger my husband got wasn't bison. He loves good burgers so bison is a purchase we make...tasted like store bought beef...which is sad bc that means it's not local. Hubby said there was no way it was bison. We feel as though we got ripped off. And right after leaving I am very nauseous.

They offer many organic and gluten free item in the cafe and a nice selection of cold drinks or coffee. Also they do speciality dinners with special chiefs ... Check out their Facebook page at : facebook.com/pages/Park-… For post on what the special of the day is. I never go to town without stopping for something.

I loved this place. This town has a lot of formulaic places and I loved the quirkiness and uniqueness of this place. First the food: incredibly complex flavors. I had the chicken salad sandwich. It had all kinds of nuts and veggies in it. The presentation was really nice. I was surprised by sliced fresh fruit ( oranges, apples, strawberries) and Indian rice ( all kinds of veggies and seasoning, and organ ice corn chips The ambiance is cute. There was a musician playing quietly in the corner. I could still talk quietly. If this place were in my city ( San Francisco). I would eat here all the time. All the foods look healthy and inventive. They also sell produce and had delicious hibiscus tea. Gluten-free bagels! My favorite bit is their posting wall were many of the local healers put their cards and flyers. Any restaurant that does that creates community so three snaps to this place! Another review said the energy was weird. I couldn't figure out what on earth they were talking about. I think it has a bit more hippy flavor ( though quite conventional by my standard). I thought it was delightful. Additional things I liked - wifi and coffee bar and they had a suggestion box for menu items. Also had a large selection of drinks that I like that are usually hard to find in Arkansas - coconut water, Starbucks iced coffee, Yerba mate etc.

This is an interesting cafe and market just outside downtown Hot Springs. The service is impeccable, and they had almond milk for our fresh, hot coffees. I would give five out of five, however the market side of the shop needed a little more stock, and the produce was almost empty. Maybe bc it's the only natural foods store in town! They did have some great AR jam and honey! Worth a stop in, esp for the great service.
